(i)(b) For voltage not exceeding Medium Pressure, Wiring of buildings(for lights, fans and small motors)- (b) Metal sheathed, conceal casing and conduit system
(ii) Motor wiring (including generators) in conduit or lead sheathed with wires and cables other than armoured cables
(iii) Motor wiring with cables (laying and jointing)
(iv) Overhead line work with cable connections
(v) Cable connection (laying and jointing) for High Pressure
(vi)(a) Overhead lines up to 33000 volts only
(vi)(b) Overhead lines exceeding 33000 volts
(vii)(a) Overhead lines with cable connections up to 33000 volts
(vii)(b) Overhead lines with cable connections exceeding 33000 volts
(viii)(a) Cable laying and jointing up to 33000 volts
(viii)(b) Cable laying and jointing exceeding 33000 volts

Workman's Permit Eligibility Criteria

  1. For Parts i(a), i(b) & ii, self-certification regarding working experience of two years will suffice. For higher parts documents/certificates indicating working experience in operation and maintenance for at least two years in Generation, transmission & distribution companies/electrical installations including Factory registered under the Factories Act,1948 (63 of 1948) and mines and oil field as defined in the Mines Act,1952(35 of 1952), where more than 250 KW electrical load is connected / under an electrical contractor licensed under these rules,
  2. Received other electrical training as a workman for at least two years which is considered satisfactory by the Board
  3. Age should not be below 20 years and more than 60 years as on date of application
  4. Provided that a candidate for a Workman Permit in the class or classes relating to high pressure installation work vii(a) and viii(a) must be in possession of a valid permit in the corresponding class or classes (iv) and (v), respectively pertaining to medium-pressure work
  5. No application for new Workman’s permit will henceforth be entertained from the candidates attaining the age of 60 years and above.

Workman's Documents Required

  1. Testimonials of practical experience as an Electrical workman from any Licensed Contractor or Registered Company.
  2. A recent photograph (size 50.80 mm X 63.50 mm) with applicant signature.
  3. Address proof (Domicile certificate or Aadhaar Card)
  4. Age proof (Birth certificate issued by Corporation or Municipality or BDO, School leaving certificate)
  5. Testimonials in support of ITI Qualification (If applicable)
  6. Self declaration in own hand writing certifying ability to read and write in Bengali or Hindi or Urdu or Nepal (If applicable)

Workman Permit Fee Details

  • For 2 parts at a time – Rs. 400/-
  • For each additional part – Rs. 200/-
