Electrical Supervisor License Parts and Application details

Electrical supervisor license in west Bengal allows the license holder to monitor or modify any electrical work with in the state. Also, any electrical work has to be done under a qualified certificate holder.

The State of West Bengal has two types of supervisor licenses such as Supervisor Competency Certificate and National Competency Supervisor. The Supervisor Competency allows you to work as an electrical supervisor within state boundaries but National Competency Supervisor license allows you to carry outside of state bounty.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicant should have passed Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent examination from any recognized board or council.
  2. Applicant should have passed the examination for electrical workman in the corresponding class as satisfactory by the Board.
  3. Applicant should have at least 8(eight) years practical experience out of which 2 years as workmen and remaining 6 years in supervising nature of job which is regarded as satisfactory by the Board.
  4. Applicant’s age should not be below 26 years and more than 65 years as on date of application.
  5. Applicant who can produce a full technical certificate acceptable to the Board from a school/college/institution to the effect that he has satisfactorily completed a course of theoretical and practical electrical installation work or electrical engineering and who, subsequent to the course of practical work, has completed two years practical experience in actual electrical installation work, may be exempted from appearing at the examination.
  6. Applicant who can produce a full Degree/Diploma Certificate, acceptable to the board from a College/Institution and who subsequent to the Degree/ Diploma course has completed one year experience in the field of domestic wiring upto 250 V and industrial wiring upto 650V may be exempted from appearing at Supervisor Certificate of Competency (S.C.C) Parts 1, 2 & 11.
  7. Degree/Diploma holders are to sit for the Oral examinations and Practical Tests for grant of Supervisor Certificate of Competency on application and payment of requisite fee, provided the candidates must have undergone one year experience corresponding to each additional SCC Part.
  8. Any candidate of advanced age not less than 40 years who has passed any one of (a) Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent examination and (b) Relevant part of Electrical Workman’s Permit examination having at least 10 (ten) years practical experience which is regarded as satisfactory by the Board may be allowed to sit for the Oral examination and Practical Tests for grant of Supervisor Certificate of Competency on application and payment of necessary fee.
  9. Any candidate of age not less than 26 years and not greater than 39 years who has passed (a) Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent examination and (b) Relevant part of Electrical Workman’s Permit examination having at least 8 (eight) years practical experience which is regarded as satisfactory by the Board may be allowed to sit for the Oral examination and Practical Tests for grant of Supervisor Certificate of Competency on application and payment of necessary fee.
  10. No application for new Electrical Supervisor’s certificate will henceforth be entertained from the candidates attaining the age of 65 years and above.

  1. Testimonials of practical experience as an trainee/assistant electrical supervisor from any Licensed Contractor/Registered Company.
  2. Certificate of Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent examination from any recognized board or council.
  3. Electrical workman Permit, if any.
  4. A recent colour photograph (size 50.80 mm X 63.50 mm) with applicant’s signature.
  5. Address proof (Domicile certificate / Aadhaar Card).
  6. Age proof (School leaving certificate, Birth certificate issued by Corporation/Municipality/BDO).
  7. Degree or Diploma Certificate (if applicable).

  • For 2 parts at a time – Rs. 800/-
  • For each additional part – Rs. 400/-
